Recently, Kayla started a new position in Vancouver, BC through TPD’s Recruiting Team. We’re thrilled for her and always enjoy hearing about the positive experiences of the TPD Alumni Family. Kayla is currently working as an Engagement Specialist Manager with a very reputable client of ours. We chatted with her recently and got some insight into her new job and her overall experience with TPD’s Recruiting Team.
Congratulations, Kayla! And welcome to the TPD Alumni Family! We’re looking forward to seeing how your career advances :)
Was this your first experience working with a recruitment agency? If so, how did you find the process? If it wasn't how did TPD differ from other agencies?
- No, it was not my first time dealing with a recruitment agency. TPD was very professional about the entire process. My recruiter was great with finding opportunities that fit what I was looking for, my lifestyle, while still keeping in mind my requirements for a career. I was kept up to date at all times with the interview processes and any other information that could be provided to me. I heard from TPD weekly, and sometimes every couple days to check-in with me. This meant a lot to me, as I was dealing with other recruiters prior to TPD and frequently felt lost in the system and wouldn't hear from other recruitment agencies for weeks.
How had your job search been going prior to working with TPD?
- Frustrating. I'm not a big advocate for applying online. I prefer to deal with people in person and be provided details on the company before I apply. That way, I can ensure I’m not wasting my time or the company’s during the hiring process, which I know can be long.
Do you feel the TPD team helped to prepare you for success with your interview?
- Yes! Bernadine was great with sending me all the information she could provide. It was very helpful walking into the interview.
What stood out the most for you during your hiring process?
- The quality of offers I was sent. I didn't want to see 100 job applications, as I did find that overwhelming when looking online myself. My recruiter sent me the ones she knew would fit with me.
What factors were most important to you in the new position you were seeking?
- Longevity, growth / development, salary, and personality of the company.
What is your new position and what excites you the most about it?
- Engagement Specialist Manager. love my new job. I have been here for a couple months now - the people and clients are amazing to work with. Everyone is here because they care and want to make a difference in our beautiful country.
What is your new work environment and culture like?
- Amazing. It’s all about the people and well-being of others. This is a passionate company that cares about everyone. It's exactly what I was looking for in a company!
