The holiday season is upon us and before we know it, it will be 2023! The New Year brings with it a host of federal holidays in the U.S. and companies should anticipate vacation requests from employees looking to mark their holidays. Here’s an overview of all the federal holidays and observances in 2023.
There are 11 federal holidays in the U.S. and in 2023 two of them fall on weekends. New Year’s Day is a Sunday, leading most companies to observe it on the following Monday in lieu. Similarly, Veterans Day lands on a Saturday but most companies will give the previous Friday off in lieu.
