Senior Payroll Specialist — Vancouver, British Columbia

Our client, a leading producer and supplier of clean burning and biodegradable fuel, is looking for a detail-oriented and strategic self-starter to join their team as a Senior Payroll Specialist. 

In this role the successful candidate will have an opportunity to process semi-monthly payrolls for approximately 250 Canadian employees as well as quarterly payments to the Board of Directors. Additional responsibilities include importing and reconciling employee payroll data from Workday HRIS into ADP payroll system, liaising with the taxation coordinator to capture and discuss tax liabilities for employees, reconciling ledger accounts, and more.

The successful candidate will have an education and/or professional designation in Payroll/Accounting/Human Resources with 3-5 years’ experience in payroll administration and accounting specifically in environments with complex employee mobility movements.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s account with accuracy and in accordance with GAAP regulatory bodies; leading the development of accounting policies for the company; managing the company’s assets including acquisitions and leases for the business; preparing annual and quarterly budget analysis; ensuring cost analysis processes are effective, and more.

The successful candidate will hold a CPA designation, have an accounting or business degree (or equivalent business experience) with 10+ years of experience including 5 years in a manufacturing setting.
