Over the past few months, the Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) Committee has established our goals and laid the groundwork for driving change at TPD. The Committee kicked off our annual AGM with an EDIB Foundations training and sharing our plans for the upcoming year. Now our focus has shifted to delivering on our goals and we’re ready to take the next steps.

That training was just the beginning. Now, we’re expanding our efforts and focusing on actions that will create a lasting impact—within our internal teams, for our clients, and in the broader communities we serve.

What’s Coming Up? Our Focus for the Months Ahead

As we move forward, we have a clear set of goals and initiatives that will drive our work. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s to come:

  1. Quarterly Training Sessions
Building on the success of our introductory EDIB training, we’ll be rolling out a series of quarterly internal training sessions for TPD staff.  Training sessions are designed to spark thoughtful conversations, raise awareness, and equip our teams with the tools they need to build a more inclusive culture.

  2. Policy and Process Review
We’re taking a closer look at TPD’s internal policies and processes to ensure they are not only aligned with our EDIB values but also actively removing barriers and supporting practices that are inclusive, equitable, and supportive for all TPD’ers. s. Our goal is to create policies and processes that support the diversity of our teams and provide a fair, inclusive experience for all.

  3. Strengthening Belonging Across Our Workforce
Equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging are at the heart of our work, and this extends to our contract staff, an integral part of the TPD community. We’re implementing initiatives designed to strengthen their sense of belonging, such as celebrating milestones, creating engagement surveys to gather their feedback, and establishing meaningful ways for them to connect with our broader community. These efforts are part of our commitment to fostering inclusion and ensuring all members of the TPD workforce feel valued.

  4. Partnerships and Community Engagement
We know that real change requires collaboration, which is why we’re focusing on building partnerships with diverse job boards, non-profits, and organizations that share our commitment to creating more inclusive, equitable opportunities. By working with organizations that support underrepresented communities, we aim to expand the diversity of our talent pool, promote EDIB beyond TPD, and drive systemic change. These partnerships help amplify our efforts and create new pathways for individuals from all backgrounds to thrive.

If your organization is passionate about making a meaningful, lasting impact and believes that together we can create positive change, we’d love to hear from you! Let’s explore how we can collaborate to foster greater diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace and beyond. Reach out to discuss potential partnership opportunities.

  1. Employee Resource Groups (ERG)
Our ERG program is in development, and we’re looking forward to launching in the coming months. The program will offer a space for employees to connect, share experiences, and advocate for a more inclusive workplace. We are currently exploring the focus areas for these groups, with plans to create a program that reflects the diverse needs and interests of our team.

  2. Creating Resources for Education and Awareness
In collaboration with our Marketing team, we will be launching a monthly EDIB content series. From blog posts to social media updates and white papers, we’ll be sharing insights, resources, and educational materials to raise awareness and encourage positive action both internally and externally. We aim to provide resources that anyone can access to learn more about EDIB and its benefits in the workplace.

Looking Ahead: Creating a Lasting Impact

While our committee is just beginning its work, we are committed to creating lasting, tangible changes that will continue long after our year in the seat. We believe in building a strong foundation now so that others can carry the torch forward and continue to advance EDIB at TPD.

We want our work to be genuine and impactful, not performative. Our goal is to lead with authenticity and create real value for our teams, our clients, and our broader community. Over the next six months, we will continue to push for positive change, with an unwavering focus on making TPD a place where every individual feels they belong.
